Often described as one of the most intriguing British singer-songwriters of his generation – with a 2017 Ivor Novello Award and a 2020 Mercury Prize to prove it – Michael Kiwanuka’s genre-defying music deftly draws on older soul sounds while being unapologetically his own. His most recent album, Kiwanuka, released in 2019, led to a headline slot at End of the Road festival and a standout set on the Park Stage at Glastonbury. In 2022, he has performed to sold-out crowds at Alexandra Palace and Brixton Academy, plus a string of summer dates including a headline slot at Green Man Festival, special guest to Nick Cave at All Points East, and performances at European festivals such as Rock Werchter, Montreux Jazz, Oya, Way Out West and Flow.
